The first international event of the 2024 Apex Legends Global Series, the Split One Playoffs, will feature 40 teams from six different leagues. These teams will compete for a chance to represent their region at the first LAN event of the competitive season.

Each Pro League consists of 30 teams, which are divided into three groups. They compete in a triple round-robin format, with the top 20 teams advancing to the Regional Finals, played on Match Point Format. The Regional Finals winner automatically secures a spot at the Split One Playoffs, joined by teams with the highest point totals. This ensures that each region sends their best teams to the Playoffs.

The number of teams each region sends is based on their performance in the 2023 ALGS season. North America, having won all three LAN events in 2023, is sending 12 Apex teams to the Split One Playoffs. EMEA, APAC-N, and APAC-S are each sending eight teams. South America, despite losing their Pro League status from 2023, is still sending their top two teams from the Challenger Circuit. Lastly, China will have two teams directly invited to the Playoffs by the ALGS, making a total of 40 teams at LAN.

Fans can anticipate intense competition as teams vie for the largest share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and Playoff Points. These points will determine the top 30 global teams attending the 2024 Championship later in the season. The performance of each team will also influence their region’s future for the Split Two Playoffs, as the total Playoff Points earned by all teams in a region will decide if they gain or lose up to two slots at the next LAN tournament, as per the new Advancement clause in the ALGS rulebook.

Apex Legends developers confirm Seasons 5, 6, 7 and 8

Although many players are still exploring and enjoying the recently released Season 4 of Apex Legends, Respawn developers already hinted their plans for Season 5,6,7 and 8, which are supposedly already in the works and might even include some Titanfall 2 content.

Apex Legends Season 4 got released at the start of February and with it introduced massive changes to the World's Edge as well as the gameplay of Respawn's FPS battle royale game title. Additionally, Respawn expanded Apex's roster with Revenant, introduced Kings Canyon in Split 2 and just recently announced Bloodhound Town Takeover. All the changes introduced to Season 4 so far proved to be a massive hit in the Apex Legends community, consequently boosting up the player count on all platforms, with gamestat.com showing over two million new PS4 players jumped into World's Edge since February.

Despite the massive success Season 4 proved to be, the game's developers are reportedly already working on seasons 5,6,7 and 8, which are all already in the pipe as we speak, according to design director Jason McCord.

“We are updating the game as fast as we can. We literally can't do anymore, and we have a lot of stuff planned that people want – but it takes a lot of time. There's nothing to be done about that,” said McCord.

McCord's announcement came after Apex Legends' community claimed Respawn are often very slow with releasing new content and introducing changes to their battle royale game title. Addressing those claims, McCord said that community' perception of Resnawn's work is pretty unfair, given that the game developers are hard at work, constantly doing their best to provide its fanbase with more new exciting content, including new guns, new heroes and tedious balance changes.

Continuing his rant, McCord told the fans "Stick with us [Respawn]," while also revealing developers are already "testing content for season 5,6,7 and 8, regularly," meaning loads of new content for Apex Lenegds is already on the cards for the upcoming months/years.

More Titanfall content?

Although fans are surely excited to hear there is more content coming their way in the upcoming months, they're surely more interested in what exactly will be introduced to Apex Legends. In that regards, Respawn remained relatively quiet, outside a huge Titanfall tease, which came in a form of an interview with Apex Legends game director Chad Grenier and general manager Dusty Welch in Game Informer magazine's 324th issue.

“We're always bringing in stuff from the Titanfall universe,” Grenier and Welch said.

“We built an awesome world in Titanfall and want to make sure we're bringing that forward,” Grenier continued, while also teasing Titanfall fans might be pleasantly surprised comes Season 5 of Apex Legends.

What exactly did Grenier mean by that is anyone's guess, but we could make a few guesses, based on what we have seen so far, including the arrival of Prowlers (native to Titanfall's Leviathan planet) with the Bloodhound's Town Takeover, while there are also rumours that Blisk could become the Apex's newest legend.

The rumours of Blisk's arrival to the Apex Legends lineup surfaced earlier in February when Apex Legends' subreddit user FrozenFroh managed to piece together some of Apex lore, which pointed towards the release of Blisk, which is a well-known name to Titanfall fans. Although Blisk has been secretly teased since the launch of the game, FrozenFroh has also pointed out that in one of the Apex's loading screens, someone claims to be betting on "Kuben", which is Blisk's first name.

It remains to be seen, however, whether Blisk will ever become a playable character, however, should Apex Legends release the South African pilot, perhaps it wouldn't be a massive shock, given all the teasers that surfaced thus far.

Outside of that, fans can also expect a release of Titanfall's energy submachine weapon the Volt, which was initially rumoured to be released with Season 4, but instead, we got Sentinel sniper. Still, if leakers are to be trusted, the release of Volt might be just around the corner.

When will Seasons 5, 6, 7 and 8 launch?

Perhaps the biggest question on everyone's mind, and at the same time the most difficult to answer. As we have come to realise, Respawn can be relatively slow with their updates, so that is something to consider when giving our best guesses of when the new seasons will release. Having said that, predicting Season 5 launch is not as difficult as the other three.

We already know that Season 4 is slated to finish on May 5, meaning that is also the date when Season 5 will begin. As for the remaining three seasons, best we can do is guess.

If we do some calculations, Season 1 lasted for 91 days (March 19-June 18), while Season 2 lasted from July 2 up until October, when Season 3 began and ended with the release of Season 4 earlier in February. Although not exactly accurate, Apex Legends seasons tend to last three months or about 90 days. With that in mind, the releases of upcoming seasons should look as follows:

Apex Legends season release dates (speculated):

Season 5: May 5, 2020

Season 6: August 2020

Season 7: November 2020

Season 8: February 2021

It is also worth noting, however, that seasons which run through Christmas tend to be slightly longer, meaning Season 7 could as well extend into 2021. Although those are more of guesses than anything else, we can at least say for certain that Apex Legends will see at least three more seasons and with it a plethora of new content for players to enjoy.

Apex Legends Global Series Major postponed amid coronavirus concerns

Electronic Arts announced they will be postponing the inaugural Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Major tournament due to the growing concerns of the worldwide epidemic that is COVID-19 coronavirus.

The California-based video game company released a statement on Friday, March 6, explaining that the first Major tournament of Apex Legends' ALGS series will be delayed to a further date, while the ALGS Online tournament, which was scheduled for March 21 and 23 will still be played as initially intended.

ALGS was first announced back in December 2019, as an international multi-tournament esports event with over US 3$ million in the prize pool. The series was said to mark a new stepping stone in Apex Legends' esports ecosystem and the first step towards establishing Apex Legends as one of the leading esports titles.

The series began on January 25, 2020, with the qualifiers for the ALGS Major 1. Dubbed as Online Tournament 1, the event comprised of eight online qualifiers that were played across North America, Europe, South America, South Korea, Japan, Greater Southeast Asia, Oceania, Middle East & Africa and China.

The first qualifying event ended on January 27, 2020, unveiling 20 teams who qualified for the event, with North American and European region receiving five spots for Major, South American, South Korean and Japan regions two, while SEA, Oceania, Middle East & Africa and China received one ticket each.

The Chinese region, in the end, did not hold a qualifying event, but instead opted for a direct invite, which has yet to be announced. The remaining teams that qualified for the Major 1 are as follows:

Apex Legends teams qualified for Major 1:

North America: Team SoloMid, Sniper Abusers, Rogue, Team Squidward, RCO eSports White

Europe: Kebabrulla, BDS Esports, OUTSIDERS, Natus Vincere, Virtus.pro

South America: CPTL eSports, INTZ

S. Korea: Aura Esports, _4K

Japan: SCARZ White, Nora-Rengo

SEA: MiTH Team, EXO Clan

Middle East & Africa: Istanbul Wild Cats

China: TBD

The teams were set to compete at Esports Stadium in Arlinton, Texas between March 13-15 for the largest slice of US $500,000 and 337,200 ALGS Points, however, due to organisers' decision, the Major will be played at a later date, which is yet to be confirmed.

Besides ALGS, EA also announced they're postponing and/or cancelling several FIFA tournaments including:

CONMEBOL eLibertadores Online & Live Event (March 7 – 8) –  Postponed; new date will be provided in the future

FUT Champions Cup Stage V  Bucharest (April 3 – 5) – Cancelled

PlayStation Licensed Qualifying Event (May 2 – 3) – Cancelled

On a more positive note, eChampions League Online Qualifiers, slated to be played on March 14 – 15 will take place as scheduled.

"While we don’t have any new dates to share at this point in time, we’ll look to provide more information regarding these events and the effect on each of the Global Series as soon as we can," read the announcement.

“These decisions haven’t come easy, but given the large global, nature of these events, we believe that making these changes are in the best interest of protecting the health of the community, including competitors, attendees, and staff.”

"As we continue to monitor the situation around the Coronavirus and receive guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), we’ll continue to evaluate and provide more updates as it relates to all of EA’s Competitive Gaming events."

EA also unveiled everyone who bought their tickets for the postponed/cancelled events will get an option for a full refund. The company will now work towards addressing the financial implications of the competitors who already booked their hotels and paid for their travel.

"Our first priority was making a decision on the events. These decisions were made in the best interest of protecting the health of the community, including competitors, attendees, and staff."

"As soon as that decision was made, we wanted to make that info public immediately. We will now put our focus towards the financial implications on our community and we’ll update you how we plan to address as soon as we can."

Although disappointing news, this is not the first case of cancelled esports events due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Riot Games also announced they will be suspending fan meets and post-game handshakes between the fans and players in all LCS matches, while LEC Spring Finals have been moved from Budapest to the LEC Studio in Berlin.

The recently finished IEM Katowice 2020 was played without a live audience, while League of Legends Champions Korea had no live audience for the majority of the split and has just recently announced the league will go on hiatus for an undisclosed time. Furthermore, both TwitchCon Amsterdam and the Game Developers Conference were cancelled with more events likely to suffer the same fate until the epidemic is contained.

Apex Legends Season 4 introduces changes to World’s Edge

Respawn Entertainment released a blog post earlier this Monday, introducing changes that are making their way into the Apex Legends in Season 4 Assimilation, which will offer the players new ways to interact with the battle royale game.

In the blog post made on EA’s official website, the game's Design Director Jason McCord talked about the changes and the direction he and his team are looking to take Apex Legends in its fourth season, which is set to go live on Tuesday, February 4.

Mr. McCord stated his goal for map update and its new design is to make players rethink their strategy and force them to make new decisions, which should add a breath of fresh air into one of the most popular battle royale games on the market.

"By the end of a season, you probably have your favourite spot, or spots, to land. You might prefer to rotate out of your drop location in a certain direction which in turns makes a lot of your games feel similar as the season progresses," said Mc Cord.

"Our goal as Designers is to offer new ways for you to approach the game, and in this case the map, so that each drop, rotation, and gunfight feels as fresh as possible. Here are a few things we're doing in Season 4 to hopefully help achieve that."

The Planet Harvester

The Planet Harvester will replace Fuel Depot and will be used by Hammond to harvest metals from the core of the planet for the "reasons unknown".

McCord talks about the Planet Harvester, claiming any player who will drop into World's Edge will instantly notice the new addition to the map, due to its red beam which is shooting into the sky and can be seen from all over the map. That is to give the players a better sense of direction and understanding of the map.

The Planet Harvester will, however, not be in the same place as Fuel Depot. McCord explained that Fuel Depot was a very scary place in Season 3, especially in the late game, as it was in the centre of the map. The Apex Legend's team decision to move the Planet Harvester elsewhere will give the players an opportunity to explore and experience the entire map more often. The new addition will also have a large multi-level design, which should inspire an exciting, new gameplay option to the game.

"Fights are largely self-contained as squads will tend to enter the fight through the long hallways that lead to the center of the structure. This should make 3rd parties a little more predictable and hopefully easier to defend against."

Capitol City will split in two

Due to the unstable and volcanic nature of World's Edge, Planet Harvester caused the ground to move, which will introduce some massive changes in the landscape, namely in the Capitol City, which was split in two due to the lava-filled faults which ruptured, creating large lava-filled pits and destruction all over the place.

Besides the Fuel Depot, Capitol City was the biggest Point-Of-Interest in Season 3, and consequently saw the most action with players and teams fighting for the control of the region. Apex Legends team decided to send a fissure straight through the Capitol City, which created a so-called dead space in between, which has essentially split the area into two separate zones. The two zones will be called Fragment East and Fragment West. The players, however, will be able to pass the newly created fissure in two locations; via a zip line or a fallen skyscraper bridge.

With this move, Respawn added some breathing room to control one side after the drop and reducing the risk of running into third parties from the other side of the city.

The Updraft

Mr McCord also addressed the issue that could arise due to the new holes in the map, which could prove deadly for some players who find themselves in a moment of weakness and fall into the pit. Apex Legends team realised such occurrences could discourage players from exploring the new zones in a bid to avoid falling to their deaths. For that reason, Respawn decided to add the "Updraft", which will essentially prevent players from falling into lava and instantly dying.

If a player jumps/falls into the fissure that cuts through Capitol City he/she will be slowly carried back up from the heated, pressurised air. This, however, will be balanced with two things:

-the player who falls into the pit will take 25 damage from "the intense heat and embers floating inside". This will be a consistent damage for every time a player drops back down

-the travel back up to the surface will be very slow and in third person. McCord explained this as: "You are essentially a flying loot piñata for any nearby enemy players."

"Competitive integrity is always a big factor while designing new features, and our main concern with this feature was allowing players to escape fights they are losing by sliding into the fissure and sailing away. We think the damage and slow rise make players respect the gap while in a firefight, while, in calmer moments, allowing players to have fun and experiment with this new space without the risk of immediate death."

The Survey Camp

The small Point-Of-Interest in the snowy fields between Skyhook and Epicenter is a camp created to relieve the pressure of locations such as Refinery, Epicenter and Capitol City. The introduction of Survey Camp will also create a potential for players to explore new rotations, such as moving through the train tunnel to get to the Skyhook.

Weapon Rack

Because Survey Camp is a small POI, Apex Legends team decided to give it a little more of a draw by introducing the weapon racks.

Weapon Racks will be placed in small buildings of Survey Camp, with guaranteed weapons placed on the said racks. The players will recognise the said weapon racks as they can be found at the Firing Range or in Training mode. This addition will make players decide whether they will land at Survey Camp for a guaranteed weapon or rather focus on a premier drop location.

"We’re always excited to try flipping Battle Royale rules on their heads, and we look forward to seeing how this feature influences where players drop," said McCord.

With a plethora of great new additions to the World's End, Apex Legends players will surely be excited to jump into the game and test the new features. Season 4, Assimilation, will kick off this Tuesday, February 4. The exact time of Season 4 start is still unknown.

Respawn also released a short video, showcasing the Apex Legends: Season 4 Assimilation gameplay, giving the players a first glimpse into what awaits them once the season goes live.

NRG sign Frexs to complete their Apex Legends roster

NRG announced Joseph "Frexs" Sanchez as a new signing for their Apex Legends squad this Saturday, completing their roster ahead of 2020 season, which will be the biggest year for Apex Legends esports scene to date.

As announced this Saturday, Frexs has become a member of NRG's Apex Legends roster, where he will play alongside Brandon "Ace" Winn, Marshall "Mohr" Mohr and Richard "KingRichard" Nelson, who is currently the team's substitute.

The team signed Frexs as a replacement for 19-year-old Coby "dizzy" Meadows, who announced his retirement from Apex Legends competitive scene back in December, in order to focus on his streaming career.

Frexs has started his career as a professional Apex Legends player on March 21, 2019, when he joined forces with Justin "Chappie" Andrews, Greg "Grego" McAllen and Jamison "PVPX" Moore at Cloud9.

Unfortunately for Frexs, success was hard to come by during his time with the C9 organization, as the team failed to achieve any notable results throughout the year. Despite competing mostly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 tournaments, C9 failed to achieve a single title, with their best result coming from Twitch Rivals Apex Legends Challenge – North America #2, where they finished fifth and pocketed $10,800.

Frexs’ first appearance in a Tier 1 tournament came in August when C9 played at EXP Invitational – Apex Legends at X Games Minneapolis, however, even there they severely underperformed and finished 15th out of 20 participating teams, which was a huge blow to the initial hype surrounding the new team.

Barely four days after C9's disastrous performance at X Games, the organization decided to release Grego, Timothy "Overpowered" Liang and Frexs from the team in a bid to field a stronger roster.

https://twitter.com/Cloud9/status/1159132280721481729

A month after being released from C9, Frexs joined up with Team Reciprocity as a stand-in, where he competed at Twitch Rivals – Road to TwitchCon San Diego #1 North America and Apex Legends Preseason Invitational, however, failed to achieve any notable results, finishing the tournaments at the sixth and 24th spot respectively.

Despite his rather mediocre results with C9 and Team Reciprocity, Frexs saw some success with The Youngins and Frexs stack, which finished first at GLL Apex Legends Series – NA Qualifier and went on to finish fourth at the main event in mid-December, which seemingly caught the attention of NRG, who decided to sign the experienced battle royale player to complete their roster.

Frexs has previously competed in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite, where he achieved a fair amount of success, having finished second at the IEM XII – Invitational Katowice as a PUBG player and 33rd-64th at Fortnite Fall Skirmish Series – Week 6 – Grand Finals as a Fortnite player.

His achievements in Fortnite and PUBG earned Frexs a grand total of $9,400 in tournament winnings, which is almost double of what he earned as an Apex Legends pro ($5,696.67).

This signing will offer Frexs a fresh start of his career with one of the biggest esports organizations in the world alongside two of the best players in the scene. Despite his rather lacklustre career achievements, NRG seemingly saw potential in Frexs, who will have huge shoes to fill, as he will serve as a replacement fort dizzy, who was arguably the top player of NRG before he decided to retire.

Suffice to say, NRG are putting a lot of hope in Frexs who will have huge expectations to fulfil in 2020 and while there are not many people who believe he will able to imitate dizzy’s performance right off the bat, Frexs and NRG have received a lot of support from the Apex Legends community, which hopes to be taken aback with that Frexs can bring to the table.

Frexs and NRG's first real test will come later this month when the qualifiers for Apex Legends Global Series take off. There we will see top teams from nine regions compete for a ticket leading to the first Major tournament of the season, set to take place in March 2019.

PvE mode could be coming to Apex Legends in Season 4

While Christmas is already behind us, Apex Legends community just might be in for another present early in 2020 as suggested by rumors, which surfaced this Sunday, suggesting Apex Legends could go PvE once the Season 4 launches, giving Apex Legends players one more reason to look forward to 2020.

Since its launch in February 2019, Apex Legends has been a strictly multiplayer game, which is nothing out of the usual for a battle royale game title, however, its fans have been fairly vocal in expressing their desire to see a dedicated player-versus-environment (PvE) mode, which would add some flair to their favorite game.

There is no going around the fact PvE modes are favoured across many game titles, with even the likes of Fortnite and Overwatch putting their own spin on the game type. Fortnite already features its own co-op third-person shooter survival game Fortnite: Save the World, while Blizzard is hard at work to launch Overwatch 2, which will basically be a PvE extension to their successful FPS title.

The premise of a PvE game is for a player to progress through campaigns, where he/she explores the world, fights AI-controlled enemies and learns the story about the game en route to the final fight, where we usually get introduced to the final antagonist of the story.

While it may seem PvE modes might not fit in with a battle royale game such as Apex Legends, we have to consider the Apex Legends has rich lore embedded deep in the Titanfall universe, which could make for a great experience in a PvE mode that would make connections between Apex Legends and the Titanfall.

The rumours of a possible Apex Legends PvE mode surfaced way back in  September, during Season 2, where a reputable data miner "That1MiningGuy" took a deep dive into the game files where he found several objectives and missions, suggesting Apex Legends could be introduced to a PvE mode.

Adding to that, Respawn added some more subtle hints of their own by implementing new NPCs in the game, suggesting they are testing new models, which could find their way into a PvE mode. The biggest hint, however, was a community-discovered easter egg on the Apex Legends Firing Range earlier in December.

In the video released on Apex Legends' subreddit, we saw a player being attacked by NPCs, which was the first such occurrence in Apex Legends' history. Since NPC are the heart of all PvE games, the mentioned discovery suggests Respawn have already implemented a script to the game, which would allow for players to fight AI models, ultimately suggesting a PvE mode could be launched soon.

A similar discovery has already surfaced earlier in May, where a player posted a video showcasing "unused voice lines", which seem very fitting for an encounter with an NPC.

While there are many hints PvE mode could be coming to the Apex Legends, there were no official announcement from Respawn as of yet. If we combine all the evidence Apex Legends community have gathered so far, however, it is easy to be optimistic about a possible release of a PvE mode.

That at the end of the day would not come off as a shock to anyone, considering the community have before expressed their desire to see a PvE mode of their favourite game, leading us to believe Respawn have been listening to the demands and already started working towards making their community happy. That leaves us with the question:

When can we expect to see the heavily anticipated Apex Legends PvE mode?

Unfortunately, answering that is nearly impossible, considering that all we have to work with as of today are speculations and easter eggs. That being said, there is a strong belief among the Apex Legends community, PvE mode could be coming with the launch of Apex Legends Season 4, on February 4, 2020.

The launch date for season 4 would fall exactly one year after Apex Legends was released, which would make for a perfect date to surprise their fans with a PvE mode. Will our speculations prove to be true is at this point anyone's guess and we will never know for sure until February 4, when we just might see a beginning of a new era for Apex Legends.

Should Apex Legends feature skill-based matchmaking?

One of the hottest topics in the gaming community right now is skill-based matchmaking (SBMM). From Call of Duty to Fortnite to Apex Legends, SBMM is seemingly in every popular multiplayer title. Though developers believe it helps retain a particular player base, the mechanic is alienating a solid portion of their community, especially in Apex Legends. Once an enjoyable run-and-gun shooter, Apex public matches are now a nightmare for most players. While some other factors play a role, skill-based matchmaking is mostly to blame. So, this begs the question, should skill-based matchmaking be in Apex Legends?

Skill-based matchmaking doesn’t belong in public matches

If you’re unaware, skill-based matchmaking is essentially a feature in which the game will place you in matches with players of similar skill. So, as an example, if you have a certain rank in Apex Legends, say Platinum, you will likely be matched up with other Platinums. The game will also take into account your kills per game, overall kill/death ratio, win/loss record, etc.

SBMM started out as a way to protect lower-ranked players. Developers believe that if a first-time player hops on and is immediately killed by a veteran player, they will simply stop playing the game. However, SBMM has evolved into a universal mechanic for all players.

Currently, in Apex Legends, it’s a near 100% chance that you’ll be matched with players around your skill level. Though this does indeed help out lower-tier players, the higher-tier population gets the short end of the stick.

Many players don’t enjoy fighting against similarly skilled players because it becomes hard to tell if you’re improving or not. If you match up against players like yourself, you will die more often and usually earn fewer eliminations.

Skill-based matchmaking should be left for the ranked playlist, which Apex Legends features. However, in public matches, a majority of players want to go up against a melting pot of differently skilled enemies. For the past few months, this has been nowhere near the case in Apex Legends.

Will Apex Legends ever change its current formula?

Across social media, many in the community have been pleading with Respawn Entertainment to reverse their actions. Players of all skill levels prefer the way Apex Legends used to be with no skill-based matchmaking. Matches were more fun and action-packed, leading to a plethora of insane moments.

While the vocal portion of the community may want a reversal, it’s highly unlikely Respawn will budge. The developers have data that shows skill-based matchmaking benefits around 90% of the player base in some way. Whether it be game retention or player improvement, Respawn has some sort of data that proves SBMM helps out more players than it hurts.

So, unfortunately for some in the community, SBMM is not going anywhere in Apex Legends or any other multiplayer title for that matter. It seems those who don’t enjoy SBMM will either have to adapt to it or find another game to enjoy.

Apex Legends introducing Friendly Firing Range, overhauling rank progression

While it’s torrid start is certainly in the rearview mirror, Apex Legends looks to be turning things around before 2020. One of the main gripes among players has been the lack of content/ranks throughout the three seasons. Though developers Respawn step it up with every new season, there’s still a quality the game lacks. Most high-profile streamers can’t find enjoyment in the game for more than a week or whenever they reach max rank. However, in an upcoming update, that will be changing, along with some other things.

Rank progression changing in a new update

Though not easy to get to, the max rank currently in Apex Legends is level 100. In the game’s current state, there’s a steep XP increase starting at level 26, meaning it becomes harder to reach every following level.

In the upcoming December 3 update, Respawn will be fine-tuning this. Instead of a large XP increase at level 26, ranks 1-58 will now be much easier to obtain. After level 58, it becomes tougher but more feasible than previously.

In addition to this, Respawn is adding an extra 400 ranks to the progression system. So, after December 3, players will be able to reach level 500. There will, of course, be varying rank icons earned with each milestone hit (every 10 levels).

Also, at every 100 levels, players will be rewarded a Gun Charm that can be equipped on any weapon in the Armory. Gun Charms can be earned through ranking up and unlocked in Apex Packs. There will be 36 new Gun Charms introduced into the Packs.

Speaking of Apex Packs, Respawn will now be making it far easier to earn Apex Packs through leveling up. Here’s how many Apex Packs you can earn from rank 2-500:

  • Level 2 – 20: One pack every level (19 Apex Packs total)

  • Level 22 – 300: One pack every two levels (140 Apex Packs total)

  • Level 305 – 500: One pack every five levels (40 Apex Packs total)

  • You will continue to earn 600 Legend Tokens per level and per 18,000 XP at level 500

Essentially, this new system adds 14 more earnable Apex Packs from levels 2-100. If you’re already at level 100, you will automatically be awarded the 14 additional Apex Packs.

Friendly Firing Range also coming soon

One huge aspect of any multiplayer title is the ability to challenge friends to a match. During the classic Call of Duty days, if you wanted to settle a dispute, you would challenge someone to a 1v1 on the maps Rust, Nuketown, or Shipment.

While a battle royale doesn’t function exactly like Call of Duty, the desire to challenge friends or foes is still there. Fortnite introduced its version of this in 2018, Playground mode. With the entire map at your disposal, you’re able to load into a private match with a friend and do whatever the game will allow.

Apex Legends seemingly had all the makings for something like this in its training area. However, it was never possible to load into the area with a friend. Well, that is until now. Respawn will soon be introducing the Firing Range, a place where you can practice your aim and shot with every weapon in the game.

A key feature of the Firing Range is that friendly fire will be enabled, meaning you can shoot your teammates. This is exactly what the Apex Legends community has been looking for. Hopefully, Respawn doesn’t make any unnecessary changes to make the experience less enjoyable.

All of this information can be found on the Apex Legends website. As aforementioned, these changes will go live on December 3 for all systems.

Season 3 of Apex Legends commences October 1st

Respawn ended up dropping a number of hotly predicted as well as much leaked particulars regarding the subsequent season of Apex Legends. Meltdown, which happens to be one more name for Season 3, is going to deliver the innovative legend Crypto along with the Charge Rifle which is a comparatively new one. One very important thing that we would like to mention here is that there is going to be a modest alteration in the ranked mode matchmaking plus scoring in the Season 3 Apex Legends.

This particular declaration was made by means of the official Twitter of the game, and it comes with an extremely intriguing mini movie. Having the title of “Forever Family”, it tells about the story of the origin of an upcoming legend under the name of Crypto in detail. In each and every scene you will come across a large volume of details and there are plenty of hints for exploration as well. Right now, we are going to leave all that to the gamers, and not to mention the community theorists as well.

Here, we like to assert one essential thing that plenty of attention is being received by the Battle Pass of Apex Legends Season 3 at this moment. As for now, we all are aware of this fact that in excess of 100 exclusive products which also consists of a lot of innovative types of content are going to be delivered by it. However, we are not 100% sanguine about what exactly all these innovative content types happen to be for a minimum of two days whatsoever. On the other hand, in case we were required to make a prediction, they are going to be unique dive trails as well as weapon charms. At this very moment, those 2 are going to be implemented in the form of rewards for only the Ranked mode and nothing else. Because of the fact that Ranked is not exactly that well-known at the present moment, there is a possibility for Respawn to throw a bone to the gamers who have no intention of grinding it simply for cosmetics.

Ranked mode tweaks for Apex Legends Season 3

While we’re talking about Ranked mode, it has been declared by Respawn that there are quite content with the present condition of that particular mode. It is good to know that they will be still making some sort of adjustments when it comes to Apex Legends Season 3. Above everything else, all the players are going to be “soft reset”. In this particular case, this will imply that their rank is going to be downgraded by a league and a half.

At present, the point system is going to account for none other than assists. You will be getting one single assist for the kill in case you are able to destroy a rival layer a minimum of 5 seconds before they are actually downed. However, these effects will be only applicable if one of the players on your personal squad is responsible for downing them, and no third party help is going to be allowed here. It will be important to match the assists of the scoring treats as kills; therefore, both the values will be having a shared maximum total of as many as 5. At present, this stat will be multiplicative instead of being additive to the overall match score that you have achieved.

Respawn can boast of having a clear vision for exactly how the Ranked mode is going to be influenced by this innovative system. We have no other way but to wait and watch it will be an action which will help us to understand whether the Ranked experience is going to be enhanced by it or not in the long run.

The Season 3 of Apex Legends is going to start from the 1st day of the month of October. Additional Meltdown information is going to be introduced by Respawn out there along with teasers all through the remaining part of this month of September. And one more thing that we would like to mention here is that do not forget to stay tuned to Daily Esports where you will be able to get hold of our day-to-day coverage!
