Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer has officially joined c0ntact this Monday, which confirmed speculations that surfaced earlier this month.

The Danish CS:GO veteran has endured quite a turbulent period of his esports career as of late, seeing how he played for four different organisations in a span of only three months. After getting benched by Heroic, the 30-year-old in-game leader was originally set to join a Mongolian CS:GO team TIGERS where he would play alongside Owen "⁠smooya⁠" Butterfield, but the plan fell through after TIGER's old roster improved their performance and won the ESL One: Road to Rio – Asia.

This effectively left Snappi on TIGER's bench and without any proper play time. Nevertheless, the Dane quickly returned to action, when he joined Astralis as a stand-in for Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth. Snappi helped Astralis through BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Showdown and DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: Europe, albeit without much success, seeing how Astralis finished only seventh-eighth at BLAST Premier and ninth-12th at DreamHack Masters.

After spending the last three months jumping from team to team, Snappi has now seemingly found a new home at c0ntact. With this addition, c0ntact will look to see better success in their competitive endeavours, after the European-mix's struggles ever since they transferred from CR4ZY. C0ntact are currently ranked 42th in the global rankings – a far cry from their 20th place, which they held while playing under CR4ZY's banner.

At first, it was unclear who Snappi will replace, but it was obvious either Luka "⁠emi⁠" Vuković or Nestor "⁠LETN1⁠" Tanić will find themselves on the chopping block due to their poor performances in recent months. Emi has been averaging only 0.92 rating, while LETN1 managed only 0.89 since joining c0ntact. For now, it was revealed that LETN1 will be stepping down from the active roster for the cs_summit 6 closed qualifiers, but it's still unknown who will make room for Snappi long term.

C0ntact also recently announced they have signed Daniel "⁠djL⁠" Narancic who has joined the organisation as an assistant coach and will now work alongside Neil "⁠NeiL_M⁠" Murphy. DjL has previously played for Red Reserve, Japaleno and Chaos Esports, while also serving as a head coach of Red Reserve and GamerLegion.

Snappi made his debut with c0ntact this Monday, at the cs_summit 6 Online: Europe Closed Qualifier where c0ntact faced off against AVEZ and won 2-0. The match was fairly one-sided throughout with c0ntact winning both Inferno (16-13) and Nuke (16-11) with relative ease. Snappi finished the series as the hitrd-highest rated player on the server with 1.19 rating, 39-26 KD, 81.6 ADR and 76.8% KAST.

In Snappi's second fixture with his new team, however, did not go as planned. In the infal round of the cs_summit 6 Online: Europe Closed Qualifier, c0ntact lost to OG with 13-16 on Nuke and 11-16 on Inferno. Snappi ended the match with a rather poor 0.72 rating, only 0.1 higher than emi and well below Otto “ottoNd” Shivo, who was the best-performing player of c0ntact with 1.04 rating across the series.

Spanish esports organisation Vodafone Giants are in talks with Copenhagen Flames about acquiring the Danish Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster.

As revealed the two esports organisations have begun the talks about a possible CPH Flames roster buyout, which Giants are looking to place under the banner of x6tence's organisation.

With this move, the Copenhagen Flames CS:GO roster would fill in the void that was left behind by the departure of x6tence's former CS:GO roster, which consisted of Morís "OMG" Cid, Jonathan "JonY BoY" Muñoz, Nicolás "NikoM" Miozzi, Tomás "tomi" Guardia and Matias "tutehen" Canale.

Giant's acquisition of CPH Flames roster, however, would not be a massive shock, since it was revealed that the Danish esports organisation has decided to entertain offers for their team. It is unknown what the market value of the team is, however, it's fair to assume CPH Flames' CS:GO roster won't come cheap due to their recent success in the CS competitive scene.

Despite losing three of their key players in Asger "⁠AcilioN⁠" Larsen, René "⁠TeSeS⁠" Madsen and Asger "⁠Farlig⁠" Jensen, who left for MAD Lions, Heroic and GODSENT respectively, the Danish squad managed to keep themselves amongst the top-40 CS:GO teams in global rankings.

Since the turn of the year, CPH Flames won Geeks Gone Wild #25, United Masters League Season 2, LEGENDS.BET L33T CUP and had a successful run through the Europe Minor Championship – Rio 2020: Open Qualifier #4. At the cs_summit 6, Copenhagen Flames got seeded into Group C alongside ENCE, Ninjas in Pyjamas. The fourth and final team of the group will be decided by Tuesday, when cs_summit 6 Online: Europe Closed Qualifiers conclude.

As of now, Copenhagen Flames are ranked 12th in the European rankings with 560 RMR points, which sits them just 40 below the line for a Contender spot at the Rio Major and 240 below the Challenger status. The team lost 20% (140) points last month after the departure of Asger "farlig" Jensen.

If the deal between Giants and Copenhagen Flames comes through, it will mark the second time x6tence would field a Nordic CS:GO team, having previously fielded a Swedish team named x6tence Galaxy between 2018 and 2019.

The x6tence Galaxy project fielded André "BARBARR" Möller, Gustav "ZINKEN" Björk, Linus "Bååten" Andersson, and most notably Tim "⁠nawwk⁠" Jonasson and Nicolas "⁠Plopski⁠" Gonzalez Zamora, who are currently members of Ninjas in Pyjamas.

FATE announced the signing of a new roster, which will see three new players join Martin "Mar" Kuyumdjiev and Nikolay "niki1" Pantaleev in the new-look Bulgarian CS:GO team.

This Saturday, FATE announced a new CS:GO roster, which will see the Jordanian esports organisation keep ahold of Mar and niki1 who have been offered new contracts and will now join forces with Ivan "Patrick" Ivanov, David "harn" Benchev and in-game leader Yanko "blocker" Panov. The initial plan, as announced by FATE was to keep ahold of Viktor "duplicate" Mitev as well, before agreeing to sell the player to their local rivals SKADE.

The roster changes come at the heels of serious roster instability, which saw Kalin "KalubeR" Еrenditzov, Veselin "doublemagic" Milenov and duplicate all leave the roster in a matter of two weeks. The internal issues in FATE were also noticeable in their lack of success in their competitive endeavours. Their last title came in January when Fate won WINNERS League – Season 3: Europe Main Division.

Throughout June, however, FATE only managed ninth-12th place finish at #HomeSweetHome: Week 7, 13th-16th at #HomeSweetHome: Week 8 and 12th-14th at WINNERS League – Season 4: Europe Invite Division.

Blocker joins FATE as one of the biggest additions of the roster rebuild. He is an established Bulgarian CS:GO player who has been involved in the competitive scene for over five years. Blocker began his esports career in 2015 with Enrage and later played for BPro Gaming, where he spent the majority of his time as a CS:GO pro.

Blocker is mostly known for his time at Windigo, where he won several impressive accolades, including ESL Southeast Europe Championship: Season 8, NoxFire League Season 1, Rivalry.gg Rising Stars, Moche XL Esports 2019, as well as World Electronic Sports Games 2018 in March 2019, which is to date his career-best achievement.

After leaving Windigo in November 2020, Blocker player for several smaller teams, before he teamed up with BLUEJAYS International in March 2020, where he played alongside Patrick and achieved a few solid placements in some lesser tournaments and qualifiers.

Joining Patrick and blocker is harn, who was offered an official contract after playing as a stand-in for FATE since May when the Jordanian esports organisation went through roster changes.

"The team has gone through major changes recently; it took a lot of effort from everyone in the organisation to get the team back on track," the organisation said.

"We’re excited to see this roster in action, it’s been a long time coming!"

FATE also announced they're keeping ahold of their coach Teric "⁠Bibby⁠" Ingram, who has joined the team at the start of May.

FATE are currently competing at the ESEA Season 34: Premier Division – Europe, where they are sitting at 14th place with a 3-3 record, and in LOOT.BET Season 7, in which FATE lost their opening match against Nemiga (0-2) and are now set to face Hard4U on Tuesday, June 16 at 10:55 CEST.

Electronic Sports League (ESL) is exploring the possibility of turning the upcoming ESL One Cologne into the first LAN event since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the competitive CS:GO scene to transition to online play.

ESL One Cologne was initially scheduled for July 6-12 but was officially postponed to August, weeks after the German government suspended all large events until the end of August due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In May, when ESL announced the postponement of ESL One Cologne, it was initially said that the competition would be held as a broadcasted tournament without a live audience, which suggested that one of the most heavily-anticipated CS:GO events will follow the footsteps of other competitions and move to an online format.

With August approaching and the coronavirus situation cooling down in Europe, ESL have started exploring options to host ESL One Cologne as a LAN event. As it stands now, ESL are split between two options: either split the tournament into separate regional divisions – similarly to how they approached hosting ESL Pro League Season 11, or host the entire event at a studio in Cologne from August 21-30.

Although the latter option is optimal, it remains to be seen whether the conditions will allow for ESL to host a proper LAN tournament. What's more, the company also needs to evaluate all the variables that need to be considered before hosting a global event.

Since many countries around the globe still have travel restrictions in place, players could have difficulties travelling to Germany, meaning that some CS:GO teams would be forced to skip the competition either due to travel restrictions of visa issues.

Despite all the concerns surrounding a potential LAN event, ESL have announced earlier last week that ESL Pro League Season 12, which is scheduled for September 12, will likely be held on LAN, suggesting ESL are working to end the era of online CS:GO.

Out of all esports tournament organisers, ESL was hit the hardest with the COVID-19 pandemic. Since February, when ESL had to host IEM Katowice playoffs without an on-site audience at Spodek Arena, the tournament organiser was also forced to make some drastic changes to Pro League Season 11.

Later in March, ESL announced that the ESL One Rio Major has been postponed to November, taking over the calendar slot of the second CS:GO Major. The schedule change not only means that 2020 will be the first time since 2013 there will be only one CS:GO Major in a calendar year, but also that ESL One Rio Major will feature an increased prize pool of US $2 million prize pool – a record for a single CS:GO esports tournament.

Although ESL One Cologne's transition back to LAN does not mean there will be any live audience at the "Cathedral of Counter-Strike", the change of format is still viewed as a huge positive for CS competitive scene since it will allow some of the strongest teams to finally display their full strength – something they were unable to do in the volatile online competitions.

At the start of April, ESL announced that qualifications for ESL One Cologne have been updated. In a bid to give every team a fair chance to qualify and compete at the event, ESL gave Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania regions slots in the Final 16 and Play-in stage, with teams competing for their spot in regional rankings.

The latest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive update, which went live on Wednesday, June 10 has introduced a plethora of adjustments, including changes to several maps, better player visibility, as well as other miscellaneous changes to Valve's prized tactical first-person shooter title.

Valve patch notes for the Wednesday's update revealed a couple of small changes that went live on Mirage, Inferno, Train, Cache and Overpass, as well as flipped B bombsite doors on Dust2, effectively reverting it to the Counter-Strike: 1.6 version.

The alteration to Dust2 B doors, while a minor change on the paper, will change up the dynamic of how the game will be played, as it will allow CT players to have an easier time breaching the bombsite due to better visibility. This will effectively give CT side a slight advantage in an otherwise T-side favoured map, since counter-terrorist players will now have a full view of the car and the tunnel opening, which will prevent terrorists from holding an angle. Instead, T side will now have to move further back or position themselves closer to the bomb, allowing for easier entry onto the bombsite for CT.

While this change works in favour of the CT side, it also has some benefits for terrorists, since they will have an easier time planting the bomb. Overall, the change seems to work in favour of CT more, albeit, only time will tell how the new strategies will affect the balance of power on the iconic Counter-Strike map.

Besides the flipped doors on Dust2, the most recent update also introduced updated player visibility in the form of a new option in the game's settings.

By activating "Boost Player Contract", the players activate a special post-process filter which will significantly improve character readability by making the silhouettes stand out from the background, thus making them much easier to spot across all maps and locations.

Overpass, Mirage, Inferno, Train and Cache all received minor updates as well, however, nothing too major and game-changing as the update on Dust2.
